SCS 500/600 FAQs
The SCS 500 and SCS 600 share the same core platform and energy‑saving features, but the SCS 600 offers more inputs and outputs, giving you more flexibility. It can power two variable-speed fans and independently control up to three LED lighting channels, making it ideal for more complex or premium cabinets. Please get in touch to discuss which one suits your project best.
The SCS 500 and 600 use a 3‑level automatic standby mode that adjusts temperature, lighting and fan speed when the cabinet is inactive. Combined with control parameters, this helps cut energy use while maintaining the right product temperatures.
The SCS 500 and 600 support configurable alarms for door state, product and system temperatures, faults, and cooler unplugging. Built‑in self‑diagnosis monitors sensors, compressor, lighting, and fans, helping technicians detect issues early and reduce downtime.
With AoFrio’s IoT Gateway, upgrading coolers fitted with an SCS 500 or SCS 600 to cellular or WiFi connectivity is a simple process and does not require a change of controller. Once installed, you can pair the Gateway with the SCS 500/600 and use our mobile app to associate each SCS with a Gateway so cooler data and alerts flow to the cloud for fleet‑wide visibility and management.
The SCS 500 and SCS 600 controllers can be used in open- or closed-front bottle coolers, display cases, freezers, and even remote or heated display cabinets. Standard dimensions and inputs/outputs allow them to replace many existing electronic controllers in both new and retrofit installations.
Parameters for the SCS 500 and SCS 600 can be set from the front panel or via AoFrio’s mobile apps, with role‑based permissions. Technicians can edit parameter sets, view operating history, and override inputs/outputs for faster diagnostics and commissioning.
The SCS 500 and SCS 600 feature IP68 front and IPx5 rear protection, humidity‑protected electronics, surge protection, and self‑protection algorithms against incorrect voltages and environmental stress. Solid‑state or zero‑current‑switching relays support long operating life in demanding commercial settings.
