Commercial refrigeration IoT insights
Gateway gives you remote access to cooler data in the cloud, reducing the need for in‑person visits and enabling optimization of energy use, lighting, and operating modes to lower operating costs. When combined with AoFrio apps and software for total fleet management, additional savings come from features such as fault detection and improved uptime across your assets.
Yes, Gateway is designed as a retrofit option that can be combined with existing assets such as AoFrio’s SCS 500/600 Controller or Monitor, and it can also be installed on new builds. For new coolers, the SCS 800 controller integrates cellular connectivity and control in a single device, removing the need for a separate Gateway.
No, certain Gateway features, such as remote management, depend on the firmware version and may not be available on older releases. Always check the firmware version in Field app against the relevant release notes or product documentation, and test firmware updates on a non‑production Gateway before wider rollout.
Data from connected IoT devices such as SCS Controllers and Monitors is uploaded to the AoFrio Cloud via Gateway using LTE Cat M1 with 2G fallback or LTE Cat 1 bis, supporting reliable cellular coverage across markets.
Gateway supports energy monitoring and enables optimized asset operation, such as lighting, holiday closedown and time-of-day controls, helping you reduce energy consumption and support sustainability and net zero goals.
All data uploaded to the cloud by AoFrio’s Gateway is stored in segregated regions to meet compliance requirements and is backed up every 30 minutes for reliability and availability. All communication is encrypted in transit, and data at rest is protected with AWS-managed encryption keys. Regional deployments can be supported to align with local data sovereignty needs.
