Validation of AoFrio INSIDE technology

AoFrio, a New Zealand-based leader in commercial refrigeration IoT, partnered with Re/Gent B.V. to validate the energy efficiency of their innovative AoFrio® INSIDE™ solution. This cutting-edge technology seamlessly integrates high-efficiency hardware and advanced software management tools into commercial refrigeration units, significantly reducing their energy consumption without compromising the performance.

The validation process focused on a standard 400 liter glass door bottle cooler (Husky C400H-WE-NL-HS), which underwent rigorous testing across several configurations: the installation of an electronic controller, the upgrade to Wellington® EC motors, the addition of a variable speed compressor, and the implementation of the complete AoFrio INSIDE solution. Testing was conducted in accordance with the EN ISO 22044:2022 standard, measuring energy consumption and half reload recovery times under controlled climate conditions.

The findings revealed remarkable energy savings, with the complete AoFrio INSIDE solution achieving up to 68% reduction in energy consumption compared to the original setup. Additionally, the AoFrio® SCS controller power measurement functionality was evaluated against a high accuracy power meter, showing close alignment with readings from the high accuracy power meter. This validation highlights the substantial potential of the AoFrio INSIDE solution to elevate energy efficiency within commercial refrigeration systems.
